Patrick Arnold on the 2004 T&T Panorama Season Patrick Arnold, president of Pan Trinbago chatted with WHEN STEEL TALKS and spoke on several issues. He touched on the conditions under which some 8,000 Pan players have been preparing for the Panorama season - including long arduous hours of practice into the early hours of the morning, on a nightly basis until competition time... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There are now three pansides at Broadhurst:- Chipolatas, Marang, and Calabash. Pannists move up and down the ranks as they move up the standards grades) at school but can also move up to the top band -Calabash- if they excel in panmanship... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pantonic Live! -
The CD! Let me be clear about something right from the start: Pantonic is not my favorite Brooklyn-based steelband. Furthermore, Clive Bradley is not my favorite Panorama arranger. That said, I also need to be very clear about something else: "Pantonic Live!" is one of my favorite pan CDs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the panyard you would best hear whatever section or pan was directly in front of you. On the CD you hear every section perfectly balanced for an optimal listening experience that will be limited only by the capabilities of your stereo system. It is a stellar addition to anyone's pan music library. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'VIBRATIONS IN STEEL
2 - The show got underway almost an hour after the scheduled 5:00 PM start time, but somehow that seemed to work out as more and more brave souls turned up for what would be a delectable musical mélange. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
